I am interested in attending the Word Camp – a novice with Word press
I thought about being a $100 sponsor….but I don’t know what “100% GPL Compliant means?
—————
in the text above it states:
Please note: only businesses and individuals who are 100% GPL-compliant may sponsor a WordCamp.
The GPL is the license that is applied to WordPress, and thus inherited by all products based on WordPress (e.g. WordPress Themes and Plugins). Compliance with the GPL means you’re not trying to infringing someone’s freedoms unnecessarily (e.g. you’re selling a plugin, but you only allow users access to compiled, obfuscated code).
I’d say you’re safely in compliance 🙂
Really cool of you to consider sponsorship above and beyond just attending, Penny!
thank you – can someone help me make the next step? who gets the check ? Where do I send it?
We’ve added a “Personal VIP” ticket option to the Attend page, so you can purchase this option just like a normal ticket: https://2013.grandrapids.wordcamp.org/attend/
